It is a real challenge during the summer months to get up early enough to view the sun rise. More so if you have a location in mind a distance away and need to drive afar to get there. If you can do so, the visual reward is majestic, glorious and spectacular.
A sun rise is a reminder that God shows grace and He cares for all His creations. Jesus states (Matthew 5: 45) that God makes the sun rise stressing that the sun does not do this in the absence of God’s hand. Jesus by giving God the glory is highlighting that such action is a result of the Father’s love for mankind. The sunrise and the rain fall both on the righteous (the good and the just) and the unrighteous ( the evil, the unjust).
“so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:45 ESV)
What is important to understand from this passage. Is that Jesus is highlighting that even though God is the Holy One and is without blemish. God does not hold back from pouring out His blessings on both the righteous and the unrighteous.
The Father’s love is for all of those that He created. Unfortunately, there is a love of God that is not shared by all.
